I continue to be amazed by how my mechanics are different in different shoes, or not.
The weather has me on the treadmill so I decided to try a pair of Vibram v-runs. They aren't the minimalist of minimalist shoes, but are pretty much at the opposite end of the spectrum from my usual Altra Paradigms.
I was kind of shocked by what was different and what wasn't all that far off.
Footstrike type was quite a bit higher, which wasn't a surprise. The Shock numbers were also quite a bit higher, also not a surprise.
My pronation numbers which is what I look at to tell if a shoe is going to cause me pain were actually not that different. I would have thought with next to no support my foot would have behaved much differently.
